“Snap” An Exhibit of Photography from Past to Present
Brown County has a rich history of photography from the early photographers who traveled from house to house, capturing images of the recently deceased and their families, to the development of photography as fine art.
Frank Hohenberger created a career as an art photographer and writer, leaving a photographic and written history of early life in Brown County and the formation of the Brown County Art Colony. The legacy of these early photographers continues as today’s cameras still focus on the natural beauty that is Brown County. New technology has expanded the possibilities for the modern practitioner, allowing creative bending and image enhancement for the professional and the amateur alike.
The Brown County Art Gallery invites area photographers to enter the “Snap” exhibit. Professional Photographer Rodney Margison will serve as curator of the exhibition. Photographers, 18 years and older, both professional and amateur, are eligible. Those curated into the exhibit will be notified of drop-off dates. All work may be offered for sale with a 25% commission to the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation.
