37th annual Great Outdoor Art Contest
The oldest plein air painting competition in Indiana celebrates its 37th year! Come enjoy the outdoors and watch artists create. Or, be a part of this special day by registering yourself as a participating artist and share your artistic talents with others. This contest is open to beginners and established artists, adults and kids!
Gates open at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, for artists to bring their blank pages and canvases to be stamped on-site, then it’s off to work. Artwork is judged at 2 p.m. and awards will be announced beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Brownie’s Beanblossom restaurant will cater lunch from 11-2:30 in the Visitor Center! Please bring cash to enjoy their fresh sandwiches and dessert!
Registration can be done online or by mail, beginning Aug. 1 with early bird rates. Regular registration rates begin Sept. 1. Day-of registration is also available. Contest rules available online; participating artists furnish their own supplies and display apparatus for judging!
