Your Go-To Resource for Local Tips

I’m Denise, and I’m excited to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on at the Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau (BCCVB). As the longest serving but not oldest team member here, I’ve had the pleasure of helping to market the charming town of Nashville and the beautiful Brown County. Here’s a glimpse into my role and how we work to make your visit memorable.

At the BCCVB, we pride ourselves on being your go-to resource for everything you need to know about our area. Whether you’re searching for the best places to eat, the most exciting activities, or the top shops to visit, we’ve got you covered. Our team is here to provide directions, maps, and feedback to ensure you have a fantastic experience.

One of my favorite aspects of the job is giving personalized recommendations. I often say I offer great advice but not-so-great directions—it’s a little joke among us. When someone calls asking where to stay, I provide three options based on their preferences. For instance, I might ask, “Would you prefer to park your car and explore on foot, or are you looking for more adventure?” Based on their answers, I offer tailored suggestions and remind them they can always call back if they need more help.

Evolving to Meet Your Needs

We initially tried to collect lodging availability through a form from all our partners, but since responses were inconsistent, we now focus on providing three well-researched recommendations instead. This approach allows us to offer personalized suggestions based on the most current information.

Additionally, I ask visitors if they would prefer receiving a packet or if they’d like to explore our website, BrownCounty.com. Recognizing that not everyone is comfortable with QR codes, I also take the time to print concert information and playhouse schedules, posting them on our media board in the visitor center and at our counter.

Staying Connected with the Community

You might notice that events posted on our board are sometimes ones we’ve found on your Facebook page. That’s right—I actively check social media to stay updated and ensure we have the latest information for you. Many merchants are surprised and delighted when they bring in a flyer, only to find their event already featured.

This proactive approach helps us keep the community informed and engaged. These are just a few of the many ways we work to promote our wonderful town and county.

Thank you for following along with us! Stay tuned for more updates and insights from the BCCVB. If you have any questions or need recommendations, don’t hesitate to reach out!Â
