Martha Sechler has been using watercolors for 45+ years, and is still finding new and exciting ways to “spin light into art.” With the natural world as her inspiration she awakens line, color, and pattern in nature that is not always seen by the casual viewer. Martha’s mixed media art often combines the various textures, patterns, and colors of handmade papers with watercolor or acrylic to create paintings that surprise the eye and touch the spirit. She also re-works gourds of many shapes and sizes into 3-D art that ranges from the playful to the exquisite.
