We’ve hit our busiest and best season of the year – Fall! We wanted to help you out and give you some tips for the season that we all know and love.
Make your reservations early – we can’t tell you how many phone calls we’ve gotten about finding available rooms. This happens every year! (Hey, we’re not complaining!) Book early so you have a 100% chance of seeing beautiful Brown County during (what we think is) the prettiest time of the year.
There are a TON of cool events in Brown County during the fall – be sure to check our event calendar frequently as new events are always added! It isn’t a bad idea to plan a trip around an event you are interested in rather than getting here and then trying to find an event to attend – but if this is the case, stop by the Visitors Center and we’ll help you find what you’re looking for. Did you know that during the whole month of October about a dozen of the local artists open their studios to the public? You can take a scenic drive through the hills of Brown County and along the way stop at different artists’ studios to learn more about their craft, see the beauty of the studio, and even buy products from the artists themselves. Check out this video of two local artists, Michelle Pollock and Rosey Bolte, on Indy Style. Maps for this free tour are available online and at the Visitors Center.
YOU be the judge on when the most scenic time to visit is. We get a lot of phone calls from visitors asking about when the leaves will change, now we can show you with our leaf-cam, available here on our website. You can check it on a weekly or even daily basis and watch the leaves change right from your computer screen – though we do suggest a visit, it’s much prettier 🙂
All October long we have Halloween activities for you and your family. Go to a haunted trail (if you dare…), find your way through a corn maze, or go see the “Slightly Haunted Puppet Theatre” by the Melchior Marionettes. More information on fun fall activities here!
The perfect place for your family photo is right at the Visitors Center Patio! We are ready for fall here and have a fabulous area outside for festive fall photos! Come find a staff member and we’ll even take it for you!
