Charley’s Cabin was built on the site of Alfred Oaldon’s old blacksmith shop by Charlie Fox between 1987 and 1990. To replicate his childhood home in Brown County, Charlie used logs he cut himself on an old sawmill he owned as a young man. During WWII, he served in the United States Navy in Guam as a Seabee, where he honed his valuable building skills in constructing airstrips. You’ll find more information about the cabin’s fascinating history throughout the space.
