Smokey Day

Join Brown County State Park naturalists for a day of fun! Smokey Day includes a bike parade, cake, and bounce house. You will also get to learn all about Smokey the Bear and why fire safety is important. After gaining all of your fire safety training, there will be a chance to impress Smokey firsthand with your knowledge and take a photo.

SCHEDULE

• 9:30am to 11am: Bike Decorating – Meet near the Country Store to decorate your bicycle for Smokey’s Bike Parade!

• 11am to 11:30am: Bike Parade – Bring your bike and follow Smokey around the first look of Buffalo Ridge Campground. Meet near the Country Store.

• 1pm to 1:30pm: Wildland Firefighting – Join the park naturalist at the Nature Center’s Friends’ Shelter for a discussion about wildfire fighting, hear stories, and look at some of the tools used.

• 3pm: Smokey’s Birthday – Join Smokey Bear at the Friends’ Shelter near the Nature Center for cake!

• 11:30am to 3:30pm: Woods on Wheels and Smokey’s Bounce House – Come to the Nature Center to view the Indiana DNR’s Woods on Wheels display! Also, bring the kids for some bounce house fun!
