Amanda W. Mathis is an Americana / Folk Art acrylic painter. She lives, paints, and exhibits her work in the historic artists’ colony of Nashville. Painting scenes familiar to all, Mathis is known for pulling ideas out of memory and imagination, then adding a touch of humor and whimsy. By choosing not to paint facial features on human or animal subjects, you are able to impose you own ideas and create your own unique interaction with her work. Mathis’ studio is open year-round from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. or by appointment. Private and group lessons are available for adults and children.
