Pan seared salmon with dill cream sauce, ooey gooey vegetable grilled cheese sandwich, savory bacon and egg cheddar cheese burger, fancy frittatas and waffles…sounds pretty delicious, doesn’t it? You can get all these mouthwatering meals and more at Emma’s Cafe, Brown County’s newest spot to do lunch…and breakfast!
Where is this new place? Well at the Cornerstone Inn, of course! Located in the heart of the Village since 1993, the Cornerstone Inn has always been a great place to put your feet up and stay a while. Quaint and cozy, the Cornerstone Inn includes many charming guestrooms and suites, a beautifully restored historic home, a trendy studio apartment, and a log vacation cabin. With its top-notch accommodations and extensive amenities, Cornerstone Inn is one of Brown County’s premier places to getaway.
While the Cornerstone has always provided complimentary yummy treats for its overnight guests, it’s now sharing its tasty hospitality with the masses. That’s right, the downstairs gathering room has now been turned into Emma’s Cafe, a breakfast and lunch spot that’s open to the public!
Stop by from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. every day for a hearty, homemade, and oh-so-delicious buffet-style breakfast! Choose from a handful of signature breakfast items such as vegetable and feta cheese frittata, pan seared ham, sausage patties, and waffles. Or, you can always order up a serving of eggs any way you’d like. Can’t leave out the best part…all the breakfast treats. You’ll find sweet rolls, coffee cake, pastries, assorted breads and bagels, freshly made granola, yogurt, fruit and more! If you come hungry, you’re sure to leave happy!
Breakfast rolls right into lunch on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays where the good food keeps on coming! With four skilled chefs, there’s no shortage of awesome dishes. The menu even changes up a bit every month rotating in different chef’s favorite creations. Most of Emma’s dishes are classic crowd-pleasers with a special twist you can’t find anywhere else, like a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with roasted veggies and a seasoned cream cheese or a cheeseburger topped with a fried egg and bacon all served on a pretzel bun. Filling, fresh and certified delish, other signature items include the Chickanaberry salad, pan seared salmon, and hearty lasagna. Be sure to ask about the homemade soup and totally enticing desserts too! Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Besides an amazing new place to eat, the Cornerstone Inn also has a brand-new overnight rental. The Lodge is an impressive and pristine three-bedroom property in the middle of the Village that’s not only convenient but equally as cozy. Warm and inviting, yet contemporary, the Lodge can be rented exclusively by a big group or each of the bedrooms can be rented individually, with common spaces being shared like at a B&B.
A highlight of the Lodge is its beautiful two-story, double-sided Brown County stone fireplace stretching from the floor to the ceiling. There also are plenty of large gathering rooms, including a loft area, a massive dining room table, and a lovely patio that overlooks the Cornerstone Cottages Courtyard and gazebo. Each room also has its own bathroom and a chef from Emma’s Cafe will even come cook for you upon request!
Great for multiple couples, families, girlfriend getaways, corporate groups, and more, you’d never know that you could find such a gem smack dab in the heart of the Village! It’s so awesome, you’ll be begging to move on in!
Aside from all the new and exciting things happening at the Cornerstone Inn, there are some other new spots to shop and eat around town too!
