Digital Content & Social Media Marketing 2026 Intern

Position Overview: 

This is a full-time, 16-week internship designed to provide hands-on experience in destination marketing, social media content creation, event promotion, digital asset management, and digital storytelling.

The intern will support Brown County’s marketing team by helping capture and create short-form content, promote local events and visitor experiences, organize digital assets, assist with campaigns and giveaways, and support creator or travel writer visits as needed.

The Brown County Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking a creative, organized, and social media-savvy Digital Content & Social Media Intern to support destination marketing efforts through short-form video, photography, social media, event promotion, and digital storytelling.

This role will help capture and create content that inspires visitors to explore Brown County, attend local events, support local businesses, and choose Brown County as their getaway destination.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Social Media

• Capture photo and video content for Brown County marketing channels
• Assist with creating Instagram Reels, TikToks, Stories, and organic social posts
• Help promote local events, attractions, restaurants, lodging, shops, trails, and seasonal experiences
• Support content planning for campaigns, events, giveaways, and visitor inspiration
• Identify content gaps and assist with content shoots as needed

Digital Asset Management

• Help organize and maintain Brown County’s digital asset library
• Upload, tag, and organize photos and videos
• Assist with managing content submitted by partners, creators, and community members
• Support proper organization and usage of user-generated content

Event & Campaign Support

• Assist with event promotion and social media coverage
• Capture behind-the-scenes and day-of event content
• Support giveaways, seasonal campaigns, and partner promotions
• Help create content that encourages visitors to attend events and extend their stay

Creator & Partner Support

• Assist with content creator, influencer, and travel writer visits
• Help support itineraries, content needs, and social sharing
• Collaborate with the marketing team to highlight Brown County businesses, artists, makers, attractions, and experiences

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college or recently graduated in marketing, communications, tourism, journalism, media, public relations, photography, video production, or a related field preferred
• College enrollment or recent graduation is not required if the candidate can demonstrate relevant work experience, portfolio work, or hands-on content creation experience
• Interest in social media, tourism, marketing, communications, photography, or video
• Comfortable creating content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other digital platforms
• Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Creative eye for storytelling, trends, and visitor-focused content
• Comfortable attending events and capturing content in the field
• Basic photo/video editing experience preferred
• Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite, TikTok, Instagram, or digital asset platforms is a plus
