Here’s a quick update on what’s happening in downtown Nashville this May. Please feel free to share this information with others, and don’t hesitate to contact Town Hall if you have any questions.

Spring Blossom Parade – Saturday, May 3rd

  • Friday night: Parking will be restricted along the parade route, including Jefferson Street, Mound Street, and East & West Washington Streets.
  • Saturday morning (starting at 9:30 AM):
    • East & West Washington Streets (from Jefferson to Van Buren, between Washington and Mound Streets) will be closed.
    • Jefferson and Van Buren Streets will also be blocked for the duration of the parade.
    • From 9 AM to 3 PM: West Main Street (Van Buren to Bittersweet, including Jefferson Street) and Molly’s Lane to Old Hickory will be closed due to events hosted by the Rotary, Boy Scouts, and local Democrats.

Sewer Rehab Project – Mitchell & Stark (Friday, May 2nd)

Work on the sewer, water, and stormwater lines along East & West Washington Streets is complete. If the weather cooperates, the area will be repaved on Friday in time for the parade. If paving isn’t possible due to rain, we may need to slightly adjust the parade route—but rest assured, the parade will go on!

INDOT Traffic Signal Projects – Ragle Construction

Wondering when the large orange signs will disappear? Unfortunately, not just yet. INDOT has required updates to the courthouse sidewalk corner to meet ADA standards. They’ll also reinstall the pedestrian signal at the SR 135/46 intersection and add a sidewalk along the Speedway side of Van Buren for better accessibility. No official start date has been given, but I’ll continue to follow up and keep you informed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prepare for a busy, festive weekend in Brown County!
