Just when you thought Brown County couldn’t get much better, we went and built a brand-new entertainment venue for your music lovin’ enjoyment! That’s right, now you can catch live tunes by some pretty big-name performers at the one and only Brown County Music Center.
A bit about the venue…
Sitting just on the outskirts of the downtown Village, the Brown County Music Center is a state of the art, indoor venue with right around 2,000 seats! While Brown County is home to a handful of other venues, like the Brown County Playhouse or the Bill Monroe Music Park, this is the only one that can handle a crowd of that size indoors. It’s even so close to all the Village action that you can walk there via the Salt Creek Trail…or take a short, less than five-minute car ride to its doorstep. Right along State Road 46 East, it’s easy to find and even easier to enjoy!
The Brown County Music Center also features a top of the line sound system that’s sure to delight those ears. It’s a treat for the eyes too! With three main tiered blocks of seating, there’s not a bad seat in the house…especially when the farthest sitting spot is only 106 feet away from the stage! You’re sure to love the high-quality lighting too.
Aside from the auditorium, the venue itself is decked out in true Brown County style. You’ll be greeted by a beautiful, rustic Brown County stone exterior when you pull up to the building. Surrounded by green pastures and rolling hills in the background, this music venue is far from the norm and is a nice retreat from the concrete city scene that performers and concert-goers are accustomed to.
In the lobby, the rustic vibe continues with a vaulted, stained wood ceiling and cascading wooden columns throughout. You’ll also find historic art on display. Two murals painted by well-known Brown County Art Colony member George Lachance hang high and serve as a focal point as you make your way toward the auditorium. This artwork was donated to the Brown County Music Center by the family of prominent businessman Andy Rogers, who once owned the famed Nashville House.

Besides art of the past, you’ll also see modern-day art! Pieces by local artists line the interior walls of the lobby, perfect for strolling by and admiring before the show starts. This collection of art, known as Gallery 200, reflects Brown County’s rich artistic heritage and showcases the local talent. It’s for sale too!
A beer garden and separate family garden also sit on either side of the lobby. Besides being great spots to savor food and drinks from the concession stand, these gardens have some pretty awesome views of the nearby Brown County scenery!

Who you can expect to perform…
Now let’s talk about the best part…the performers! From rock, blues, and oldies to country, a cappella,  bluegrass, and even tribute bands, you’ll find shows of all kinds at the Brown County Music Center. No matter what your music tastes are, there’s something to enjoy!
We’re talking country greats like Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Ronnie Milsap, and Josh Turner; rock and folk legends like Art Garfunkel, George Thorogood, Gordon Lightfoot, and Tesla; fun holiday shows with The Oak Ridge Boys and Sara Evans; Beatles and pop boy band tributes; Peppa Pig for the kiddos; and so much more!
Besides big-name national acts, there also will be regional performers mixed in to keep the Brown County Music Center’s schedule chock full of great entertainment! Oh yeah, and new concerts are being added all the time.
