Checking Out the Village with your Doggo

You can’t stroll the Village without a visit to Bone Appetit Bakery for Dogs! A must-stop shop for man’s best friend, Bone Appetit is chock full of all-natural dog treats…and even a few toys. You’ll find cookies, cakes, cake mixes, rawhide chews, denta-sticks, buffalo horns, and so much more. Trust us, your pup will love it!

Of course, dogs are welcome in the Visitors Center too! Pop in and get the inside scoop on Brown County while your friend gets plenty of pets from our animal-loving staff.

Happy pup after visiting Bone Appetit Bakery for Dogs!

While we don’t have a master list of all the other shops that are pet-friendly, we do know there are some out there! Your best bet if you’re wanting to do some shopping with your pupper is to simply ask the business before you go in. Helpful tip: your odds are better if your dog is smaller or in some kind of tote!

Dining with Fido

With patio season upon us, it means that your furry friend will be able to dine with you! Enjoy the fresh air, scenic beauty, and some delicious Brown County grub with Fido by your side. We’re pretty sure your canine won’t mind if you drop a bite or two either! Check out the patios at the Harvest Dining Room at the Brown County Inn, Bird’s Nest Café, Brown Bike, Brozinni’s Pizzeria, Casa Del Sol, Farmhouse Café & Tea Room, Nashville General Store & Bakery, Story Inn, and Trolly’s. Be sure to visit the Chocolate Moose for a tasty ice cream dessert afterwards…vanilla and vegan of course!

Outdoor Fun with Your Floofer

Hikes, canoe trips, plenty of trails and parks…no wonder Brown County gets your pet’s seal of approval! There’s no better way to spend the day than on a little outdoor adventure with your bestest bud. Hit up the Brown County State Park or Yellowwood State Forest for miles and miles of hiking trails. As long as your pup is on a leash, it’s all fair game.

Check out Laura Hare Nature Preserve, Hitz-Rhodehamel Nature Preserve, Browning Mountain and Trevlac Bluffs for more off-the-beaten-path treks with fewer crowds! You may even be able to take your floofy friend off the leash if he/she is well-behaved! Deer Run Park is another good spot for you to take your dog to run off some of that pent-up energy or simply hit up the nearby Salt Creek Trail.
